My fiance and I are considering a move to one of the western states, and are thinking about a few cities in different states. Before visiting, we are trying to get some general information. What initially attracted me to Wyoming was low cost of living, low taxes, reasonable housing prices and nature. (Am I correct?) I work from home so I wouldn't be affected by the move, but my fiance would have to look for a job and he does not have a college degree. What types of jobs are available? How are salaries, and how do they compare to the cost of living? How are real-estate prices? What about renting? How is the climate? I heard that winters can be very harsh and that the wind can be dangerous. Right now I'm mostly interested in Cheyenne and Casper, but would appreciate info about other towns/cities, as well.
